The 5th edition of the MARÉ Festival will be held in Santiago de Compostela from September 25 to 29, with the aim of catalyzing Galicia’s cultural links with the world, ranging from musical to linguistic connections, as well as emotional, historical, and symbolic ones.

More than 30 bands and 200 artists from over 10 countries will expand the diversity of cultures, music, and languages across different spaces in the city.

As a novelty, this edition will feature nearly 20 international programmers from over 10 countries who will attend the festival to meet artists, professionals, and music companies, as part of the European MATE network program that connects Compostela with Thessaloniki in Greece and Coimbra in Portugal.

Within the MARÉ Festival, MATE will organize various activities to facilitate the presentation of music projects through showcases and sessions of pitching, mentoring, and networking.

If you are a band/artist, professional, or music company and are interested in presenting your project to international programmers, you must accept all the conditions and terms of the legal bases, as well as the decisions made by the organization regarding their application and interpretation.

The following bases correspond to the call for artists/bands and companies that wish to present their project in the showcase program and in the pitching, mentoring, and networking sessions that will take place between September 25 and 29, 2024.

Call for proposals

The showcases are promotional concerts in front of programmers and the general public. The organization will select proposals based on quality, reliability, and distribution capacity criteria. The organization will negotiate with the artist/band/company the economic and technical conditions of their participation.

The mentoring session is a meeting with a professional who will analyze your music project and offer you their vision, suggestions, and tools to take it to the next level.

The pitching session is a 5-minute presentation of the project to all the programmers (preferably in English).

The networking session is an informal meeting with the programmers.

Registering for this call implies acceptance of the bases and confirms your availability to carry out the activities from September 25 to 29, 2024.
